Halvah is a traditional dessert made from Tahini paste as the main ingredient. Halvah is prepared differently in various regions in the world, some make it flour based with semolina, and where I come from we make it with Tahini which is sesame paste and can be made in two ways.
The first way is with sugar syrup- candy based and the other way that I am going to show you today is very simple yet identical in taste. This recipe helps when you feel lazy to go with all the extra work, but you crave for Halvah. You will still get the fudge vanilla sesame taste, and it only takes one bowl to make it all happen.
Instructions
- In a big bowl sift together the powdered milk and the icing sugar, then mix well to combine with a spoon. Add the Tahini paste and the pistachios and work with your hands until wet and crumbly ball, which holds together. Put in plastic container and keep in the fridge for one hour before serving.
Recipe Notes
- If the mixture is too dry add a littleĀ bit of warm milk or water to loosen up and form a ball. One tablespoon at a time.
